Learning a new program can feel like a daunting task, but getting up to speed with File Query is quick and easy. The following
video series proves it, by quickly taking you through the four major uses of the program, showing you useful and important
functionality along the way. By the time you are done, you will be ready to use File Query to find almost anything from a file,
or modify the file to fit your needs.
If you happen to have any questions that are not answered here, always feel free to send them to us directly from the support
page, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
The first video in the series gives a brief intoduction to the basic interface of File Query, and some of the
features available for simple viewing of the file. You will see how much information is presented to you as
soon as you open it, and how a single button press takes you from un-readable delimited data to neat, ordered,
columns.
This video goes beyond just looking at a file, and shows you how to actually query a file to get the specific
information you are looking for. This could involve finding records where a certain field is empty, too long,
equals a certain value, or contains the wrong type of data.
If you are not looking for a certain part of a file, but instead want information about it; such as if a field
is unique, what values does it contain (and how often does each occur), what is the max length, or even making
sure that each line contains the correct number of fields, then this is the video for you.
